Mayor Roberto Gualtieri is offering free cinema screenings in Rome as a way to beat the heat, thereby breaking a taboo 

The former Cinema America manager is opening his cinema free of charge to under-25s, over-65s, pregnant women and people with disabilities. The mayor is following suit with a series of free films every day until early August in around ten cinemas across Rome
