Pursuant to and for the purposes of Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) No 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter also referred to as “Regulation” or “GDPR”) and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, we hereby inform you that the personal data you have voluntarily provided to IL FOGLIO soc. coop. (hereinafter also referred to as “the Company” or “IL FOGLIO”) will be processed in accordance with current legislation on the protection of personal data and, in any event, with the principles of confidentiality that underpin the Company’s activities.

Set out below is key information regarding the processing of your personal data by IL FOGLIO Soc. Coop., with registered office at Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 30, 20122 Milan (Italy), Tax Code and VAT No. 03231770961 (“IL FOGLIO” or “the Company”), acting as the Data Controller.

What personal data do we collect?
The categories of personal data that IL FOGLIO collects and processes when you browse the website are as follows:
  • raccogliamo i dati personali necessari per concludere e dare esecuzione al tuo acquisto su edicola.ilfoglio.it quali nome e cognome, indirizzo e-mail, indirizzo di spedizione, indirizzo di fatturazione, telefono e dati di pagamento;
  • raccogliamo il tuo indirizzo e-mail quando ti iscrivi al nostro servizio di newsletter;
  • trattiamo i dati personali che ci fornisci quando contatti il nostro Servizio Clienti per fornirti l’assistenza richiesta;
  • previo tuo consenso, raccogliamo e utilizziamo i tuoi dati personali per finalità di marketing;
  • per la registrazione del tuo account, raccogliamo il tuo nome e cognome, il tuo indirizzo e-mail, la password. Se sei un utente registrato, raccogliamo informazioni sui tuoi accessi all’area riservata del Sito. In caso di autenticazione all’account edicola.ifoglio.it mediante social network esterni, raccogliamo da questi soggetti terzi i dati necessari per la registrazione/autenticazione mediante Facebook. Raccogliamo informazioni sulla tua persona anche presso soggetti terzi e, in particolare, presso Facebook. Queste informazioni includono le seguenti categorie di dati: indirizzo e-mail.
  • raccogliamo informazioni sulla tua navigazione sul sito, come ad esempio le pagine che visiti e come interagisci con la singola pagina e salviamo queste informazioni sui nostri server.
  • nel caso in cui tu fornissi a IL FOGLIO dati personali di soggetti terzi, per esempio nei casi in cui decidessi di acquistare un prodotto da recapitare a un amico, o di fare un regalo, IL FOGLIO farà in modo di recapitare al soggetto terzo l'informativa privacy al momento della prima comunicazione. How do we use the personal data we collect?
IL FOGLIO collects and processes your personal data for the following purposes:
  • Concludere e dare esecuzione al contratto di acquisto dei prodotti offerti su edicola.ilfoglio.it. Quando concludi il tuo acquisto ti chiediamo i dati personali necessari per le attività di esecuzione del contratto, quali il pagamento, i controlli antifrode qualora scegliessi di pagare con carta di credito o debito, la fatturazione, la spedizione del prodotto e l’eventuale gestione del reso.
  • Registrazione al Sito e fruizione dei servizi offerti agli utenti registrati. La registrazione al Sito è possibile attraverso l’inserimento di alcune informazioni personali, necessarie per garantire la tua identificazione e lo svolgimento dei servizi offerti agli utenti registrati.
  • Fornitura dei servizi proposti sul sito. A tale fine IL FOGLIO ha la necessità di raccogliere, in relazione a ciascun servizio e alle sue caratteristiche, i dati personali necessari allo svolgimento del servizio da te richiesto.
  • Gestione delle richieste al nostro Servizio Clienti, il quale utilizza i dati personali che fornisci per soddisfare le tue richieste d’informazioni e richieste d’assistenza.
  • Invio di CV. Se ci invierai il tuo CV per essere considerato per una candidatura ad una posizione aperta, utilizzeremo le informazioni contenute nel tuo CV esclusivamente a tale scopo. Il tuo CV sarà conservato per un periodo massimo di sei mesi, dopodiché sarà cancellato: se vorrai, potrai naturalmente inviarcene una nuova versione aggiornata.
  • Analisi e indagini statistiche. Impieghiamo alcune informazioni sul tuo utilizzo del Sito per svolgere analisi e indagini statistiche allo scopo di migliorare la nostra offerta e i nostri servizi;
  • Invio di comunicazioni commerciali e promozionali in seguito all’acquisto di un nostro prodotto, cosiddetta soft spam. In seguito all’acquisto di un nostro prodotto sul Sito, ti invieremo all’indirizzo e-mail che ci hai fornito comunicazioni contenenti le nostre proposte commerciali di prodotti e servizi affini.
  • Previo tuo espresso consenso, potremo utilizzare i recapiti che ci hai fornito per comunicazioni di natura commerciale sui nostri prodotti e servizi, al fine di aggiornarti sulle novità, sulle nostre offerte e promozioni. Inoltre, sempre previo tuo consenso, potremo utilizzare i tuoi contatti nell’ambito dello svolgimento di ricerche di mercato e indagini per la rilevazione della soddisfazione allo scopo di migliorare i nostri servizi e il rapporto con i nostri utenti. Queste comunicazioni avverranno esclusivamente con le modalità da te prescelte (via e-mail, SMS, telefono, posta cartacea, Whatsapp).
Should you wish to authorise the activities referred to in point h) and subsequently no longer wish to receive further communications from IL FOGLIO, or should you wish to restrict the ways in which you are contacted, you may at any time opt out of these communications simply by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of each communication or by logging into your account on the website.
Please note that you may continue to receive further communications from us even after submitting your unsubscribe request, as some mailings may already have been scheduled, and our systems may take some time to process your request.
In relation to all the activities set out above, we will process your personal data primarily using IT and electronic tools; the tools we use guarantee high standards of security, in full compliance with the relevant legislation in force.
Soft spam. In accordance with current legislation, IL FOGLIO may use the email address provided when purchasing one of our services and/or editorial products to offer products, services and/or items similar to those already purchased. However, if you do not wish to receive such communications, you may opt out by notifying IL FOGLIO at any time, either by writing to the email address [email protected] or by using the link provided directly in the emails you receive (known as ‘opt-out’). In such cases, IL FOGLIO will cease the aforementioned activity without delay.
Profiling. Subject to your consent, we will process your personal data, including through tracking technologies such as cookies, to analyse and process information relating to you with a view to creating a profile of your preferences, habits, consumption choices and/or browsing experiences. Such profiling activities may also be carried out using tools provided by third parties, such as, for example, social networks (e.g. Meta) or third-party advertising service providers (e.g. Google), and by adopting, where possible, security measures such as ‘hashing’ (which involves associating strings of numbers and letters with your personal data, e.g. your email address, thereby effectively anonymising your data). To this end, we may also combine personal data collected via tracking technologies such as cookies (where you have given your consent) and/or personal data provided by you as part of our specific initiatives and/or those of our third-party partners (and, in the latter case, in accordance with the relevant privacy policy), with the data we collect as a result of your registration on one of the Websites or as a result of your use of them.
Disclosure of your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. Subject to your consent, we will process your personal data in order to disclose it to subsidiaries or affiliates of Il Foglio Soc. Coop and/or to our commercial partners operating in the sectors listed below, so that they may use it for commercial and/or promotional purposes: telecommunications companies, fixed-line and mobile telephone operators, companies active in the publishing sector, print media, new media and television (pay-TV), companies active in the e-commerce sector for products and services, companies operating in the utilities sector – gas, electricity, water, solar power and water treatment, companies operating in the tourism sector – tour operators, travel and transport agencies – and the leisure sector, companies providing vocational and/or educational training, advertising and marketing agencies, media centres, market research firms and contact centres; companies involved in the production and/or trade of fast-moving consumer goods: food and drink, non-food groceries, cosmetics and health products, clothing, semi-durable goods; NGOs and non-profit organisations, foundations; companies operating in the automotive sector; companies operating in the financial, banking and insurance sectors; and sports clubs.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data only where one of the conditions set out in current legislation applies, and specifically:

  • Quando trattiamo i tuoi dati per la conclusione del contratto di acquisto di cui sei parte abbiamo cura di utilizzare esclusivamente le informazioni minime necessarie per l’esecuzione dello stesso. Questa base legittima i trattamenti di dati personali che avvengono nelle seguenti attività:
  1. conclusione ed esecuzione di un contratto di acquisto dei prodotti offerti sul sito;
  2. registrazione al Sito e fruizione di servizi riservati agli utenti registrati;
  3. fornitura di servizi offerti sul sito;
  4. gestione delle tue richieste da parte del nostro Servizio Clienti.
  5. Il conferimento dei tuoi dati personali per tali attività è un obbligo contrattuale. Sei libero di comunicarci o meno i tuoi dati, ma in mancanza dei dati richiesti non ci sarà possibile concludere o dare esecuzione al contratto e alle tue richieste. Questo significa che non potrai acquistare i prodotti e non potrai fruire dei servizi del IL FOGLIO e che IL FOGLIO non potrà gestire le tue richieste;
  6. per dare seguito ad un obbligo legale.
  7. In caso di conclusione di un contratto di acquisto di beni su edicola.ilfoglio.it, il trattamento dei dati dell’Utente avverrà per dare corso agli obblighi legali a cui è tenuto IL FOGLIO in conformità alle disposizioni fiscali e alle altre norme a cui è soggetto IL FOGLIO. Sei libero di decidere se concludere un contratto e se comunicarci o meno i tuoi dati, ma se lo concluderai i tuoi dati saranno necessari e saranno trattati per dare corso ai suddetti obblighi legali a cui è tenuto IL FOGLIO.
  8. Il trattamento dei CV spontaneamente inviati, effettuato per valutare i candidati rispetto a una possibile posizione lavorativa presso IL FOGLIO, è legittimo in quanto espressamente autorizzato da una norma di legge, la quale specifica che in tal caso non occorre il consenso della persona cui si riferiscono i dati personali. Sei libero di comunicarci o meno il tuo CV, ma in mancanza non saremo in grado di valutare la tua candidatura per una posizione di lavoro presso IL FOGLIO;
In our legitimate interest:
a. Some of your personal data, when purchasing products on edicola.ilfoglio.it using a credit or debit card, may be processed for anti-fraud purposes: we have a legitimate interest in carrying out such activities to prevent and investigate any fraudulent activity.
Subject to your consent:
b. We will carry out the following processing operations only if you have given us your explicit consent:
• carrying out marketing activities, opinion polls and market research;
Providing us with your personal data for these purposes is entirely optional. You are free to choose whether or not to provide us with your data for these purposes, but without it, IL FOGLIO will not be able to carry out marketing activities, opinion polls and market research, or analyse your habits.
Recipients or categories of recipients of personal data
Your personal data will be processed by IL FOGLIO’s in-house staff, who have been specifically trained and authorised to carry out such processing.
Your personal data will also be disclosed to third parties whom we use to provide our services; these parties have been carefully selected and offer adequate guarantees of compliance with the regulations governing the processing of personal data. These parties have been appointed as data processors and carry out their activities in accordance with the instructions provided by IL FOGLIO and under its supervision.
The third parties in question fall into the following categories: banking operators, internet service providers, companies specialising in IT and telecommunications services; couriers; marketing companies; and companies specialising in market research and data processing.
Your data may be disclosed to the police and to judicial and administrative authorities, in accordance with the law, for the investigation and prosecution of criminal offences, the prevention of and protection against threats to public safety, to enable IL FOGLIO to establish, exercise or defend a right in court, as well as for other reasons relating to the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.
Data transfer outside the EU
Some of the third parties listed in the previous section ‘Recipients or categories of recipients of personal data’ may be based in countries outside the European Union which nevertheless offer an adequate level of data protection, as established by specific decisions of the European Commission (http://www.garanteprivacy.it/home/provvedimenti-normativa/normativa/normativa-comunitaria-e-internazionale/trasferimento-dei-dati-verso-paesi-terzi#1).
The transfer of your personal data to countries outside the European Union which do not ensure adequate levels of protection will only take place following the conclusion of specific agreements between IL FOGLIO and those parties, containing appropriate safeguards and guarantees for the protection of your personal data, known as ‘standard contractual clauses’, which have also been approved by the European Commission; or where the transfer is necessary for the conclusion and performance of a contract between you and IL FOGLIO (for the purchase of goods offered on our Website, for registration on the Website or the use of services on the Website) or for the handling of your enquiries.
Criteria used for data retention
We retain your personal data for a limited period of time, which varies depending on the type of activity involving the processing of your personal data.
Once this period has expired, your data will be permanently deleted or, in any case, irreversibly anonymised.
Your personal data is stored in accordance with the terms and criteria set out below:
  • dati raccolti per concludere ed eseguire contratti di acquisto di beni su edicola.ifoglio.it: fino alla conclusione delle formalità amministrativo-contabili. I dati legati alla fatturazione saranno conservati per dieci anni dalla data di fatturazione;
  • dati dell’Utente registrato: i dati saranno conservati sino a quando non richiederai la cancellazione del tuo profilo sul sito;
  • dati relativi al pagamento: fino alla certificazione del pagamento e alla conclusione delle relative formalità amministrativo-contabili conseguenti allo scadere del diritto di recesso e ai termini applicati per la contestazione del pagamento;
  • dati raccolti nel contesto della fruizione di servizi offerti sul sito: questi dati vengono conservati fino alla cessazione del servizio o alla cancellazione dell’iscrizione al servizio da parte dell’Utente;
  • dati connessi a richieste degli utenti al nostro Servizio Clienti: i dati utili ad assisterti verranno conservati fino al soddisfacimento della tua richiesta;
  • CV: per sei mesi dalla ricezione;
  • dati utilizzati per attività di comunicazione commerciale nei confronti degli utenti che acquistano prodotti su edicola.ilfoglio.it (soft spam): questi dati vengono conservati fino alla cessazione del servizio o all’esercizio dell’opposizione tramite disiscrizione da parte dell’utente;
  • dati forniti per attività di comunicazioni commerciali: fino alla richiesta da parte dell’utente di interruzione dell’attività e comunque entro 2 anni dall’ultima interazione di qualunque genere dell’utente con IL FOGLIO;
  • dati utilizzati per personalizzare il Sito e per mostrare offerte commerciali personalizzate: fino a quando l’utente non chieda la cessazione dell’attività e comunque entro due anni dall’ultima interazione di qualunque genere dell’utente con IL FOGLIO;
  • dati utilizzati per lo svolgimento di indagini per la rilevazione della soddisfazione: fino a quando l’Utente non chieda la cessazione dell’attività.
In any event, for technical reasons, the cessation of processing and the consequent permanent erasure or irreversible anonymisation of the relevant personal data will be finalised within thirty days of the deadlines indicated above.
Data subject rights
You may exercise your rights at any time in relation to the specific processing of your personal data by IL FOGLIO. Below you will find a general description of these rights and how to exercise them.
a. Accessing and amending your data: you have the right to access your personal data and to request that it be corrected, amended or supplemented with further information. If you wish, we will provide you with a copy of the data we hold about you.
b. Withdrawing your consent: you may withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data in relation to any marketing activities at any time. In this regard, please note that marketing activities include the sending of commercial and promotional communications, satisfaction surveys, and the personalisation of the website and commercial offers based on your interests. Once we have received your request, we will promptly cease the processing of your personal data that is based on that consent, whilst other processing operations or those based on other legal grounds will continue to be carried out in full compliance with the applicable regulations.
c. Objecting to the processing of your data: you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest, by explaining the reasons justifying your request; before acting on it, IL FOGLIO will need to assess the grounds for your request.
d. Deleting your data: in the cases provided for by current legislation, you may request the deletion of your personal data. Once we have received and assessed your request, if it is legitimate, we will promptly cease processing and delete your personal data.
e. Request that the processing of your personal data be temporarily restricted: in such cases, IL FOGLIO will continue to store your personal data but will not process it, unless you request otherwise or there are exceptions provided for by law. You may obtain a restriction on processing where you contest the accuracy of your personal data, where the processing is unlawful but you object to the erasure of your data, where we no longer need your data but you require it to exercise a legal right in court, and where you object to the processing whilst we assess the grounds for your request.
f. Request your data or have it transferred to a party other than IL FOGLIO (“right to data portability”). You may request to receive your data, which we process on the basis of your consent or a contract with you, in a standard format. If you wish, and where technically possible, we may, at your request, transfer your data directly to a third party designated by you
To ensure that our users’ data is not subject to breaches or unauthorised use by third parties, before we can process your request to exercise any of the rights listed, we will ask you for some information to verify your identity.
Security measures
We protect your personal data with specific technical and organisational security measures, designed to prevent your personal data from being used unlawfully or fraudulently. In particular, we use security measures that ensure: the pseudonymisation or encryption of your data; the confidentiality, integrity and availability of your data, as well as the resilience of the systems and services that process it; the ability to restore data in the event of a data breach. Furthermore, IL FOGLIO undertakes to regularly test, verify and assess the effectiveness of the technical and organisational measures in order to ensure continuous improvement in the security of data processing.
Complaints
If you believe that your personal data has been processed unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with one of the supervisory authorities responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
In Italy, a complaint may be lodged with the Italian Data Protection Authority.

Changes to this policy
The ongoing development of our services may lead to changes in the way your personal data is processed as described above. Consequently, this privacy notice may be amended or supplemented over time; such changes may also be necessary in light of new regulatory developments relating to the protection of personal data.
We therefore ask you to check the content periodically: where possible, we will endeavour to inform you promptly of any changes made and their implications
The updated version of the privacy policy will, in any case, be published on this page, with the date of its last update indicated.
