Franco Baresi in pictures

Franco Baresi wore only two shirts during his career: the red-and-black striped Milan shirt on 719 occasions (532 in the league) and the blue shirt of the Italian national team on 81 occasions. He captained both Milan and the national team, winning 6 league titles, 4 Italian Super Cups, 3 European Cups, 2 European Super Cups and 2 Intercontinental Cups. He was also a World Cup winner with the national team in 1982, although he did not play a single minute in that tournament.

Franco Baresi died on Friday 31 July 2026. He was 66 years old, having spent 52 of those years almost exclusively wearing the colours of Milan.
