Crosetto in Il Foglio: “Russia has been provoking us for months. It would be foolish not to see it”

 “Russia has been provoking and testing us for months. It would be wrong and foolish not to recognise how many hybrid and physical attacks have targeted certain countries in recent months.” Defence Minister Guido Crosetto made these remarks to Il Foglio, speaking – following the incident at Leipzig Airport in Germany – about Russia’s ongoing interference in Europe, which is increasingly taking the form of hybrid attacks. “The logic behind it,” says Crosetto, “escapes me, but the actions are clear, and from those actions one can discern the Kremlin’s intentions.” The minister then points out where to look to better understand what is happening: “One need only look at the rise in recruitment to understand, for example, what future Moscow has in mind.”
