Spider-Man: Brand New Day

It’s Tom Holland’s summer. Telemachus, son of the hero in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”, he returns as Spider-Man in this new film which – within the Spider-Man saga, and beyond – has broken every record. With over two billion in global box office takings, it is the most successful Spider-Man film ever; the highest-grossing film of 2026; the eighth highest-grossing film of all time. As if that weren’t enough, Tom Holland married the girl of his dreams (and not just his) this summer: the stunning Zendaya, who wore a marvellous white evening gown embroidered with a spider’s web at the film’s premiere. They were also on the same set for "Odyssey", where she played the goddess Athena. The Guardian adds that the actor, who was paid a staggering $20 million for this latest role in Spider-Man’s red and blue suit, will receive a further $100 million in bonuses – the portion of his remuneration linked to box office performance.
