During this morning’s council meeting, the president did not resign as previously announced following the Armao affair. The agreement with the party is to carry on for a few months, but to accept that he will not stand for re-election. Meanwhile, the President of the European Commission, von der Leyen, is due to arrive in Sicily on Monday.
