The election in Saxony, the ‘black threat’, is uniting the left, which is gathering today on the stage at Avs in Rome. But within the opposition, analysis of the election results is dividing opinion, whilst the Movement’s close ties to Sahra Wagenknecht come to mind – ties that could now lend a hand to the AfD.

 On 9 September, the bill will be debated in the Chamber of Deputies’ committee. The Democratic Party risks splitting once again, as it did in the Senate where Graziano Delrio found himself isolated. The Democratic Party secretary supports the protest against the bill, which is also being organised by ANPI and ARCI. Zampa’s warning

The Council of Ministers has approved an extension to the excise duty cut, but the PD secretary insists: target windfall profits. The energy spokesperson for the employers’ organisation says: “We are opposed to this. It smacks of a policy devoid of ideas.”

The PD secretary wants the windfall tax introduced immediately and on its own, whilst the wealth tax should only be implemented ‘at European level’.
