A Place in the Sun: Clara discovers the truth about Damiano

Clara senses that something has caused a row between Edoardo and Damiano, and that Rosa is keeping it from her. Eventually, her sister-in-law is forced to tell her about Damiano’s return to a life of crime, and Clara is devastated. But it doesn’t end there. Back home, she pieces together all her memories of that period, and at that point it is easy to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. She realises that Damiano was having an affair with Stella. At that point, she goes back to Rosa to demand the whole truth. Meanwhile, Diego is becoming increasingly obsessed, and forces Giulia to offer Ida a job just to keep her quiet. But the plan fails, as it is clearly contrived. Meanwhile, the scenes between Bice and her suitors, who are duelling for her affections, are becoming increasingly surreal. (a.d.)
