Mazzi’s “Guerri” is also sought after by the Competition Authority
The chief of staff to the Minister for Tourism has been approached by the new chairman of the AGCM, Saverio Valentino, who would like her to serve as secretary-general of the independent authority. However, in addition to being a celebrity agent, Mazzi is now also a guardian of chiefs of staff.
The good fortune of being sought after and the impossibility of leaving. This is the case with Erika Guerri. She is the chief of staff to the Minister for Tourism, Mazzi – a minister held in high regard by Fazzolari and Meloni – but she is also the magistrate whom the new president of the Competition Authority, Saverio Valentino, would like to appoint as secretary-general. This is the post that has remained vacant since Guido Stazi left to head Consob, following months of deadlock.
Valentino had Guerri in mind, but Mazzi does not want to give him up, in the midst of the Budget Bill, with resources to be wrested from Giorgetti. Guerri’s appointment remains a possibility but has failed to materialise, despite weeks of talk about it. Meanwhile, on 27 September, Mazzi is celebrating – and being celebrated – on World Tourism Day. From being a star’s agent, he is now the guardian of the cabinet chiefs. Watch out – he’ll even make the lifeguards sign exclusive contracts.
