Polls. Vannacci continues to rise and is closing in on Forza Italia

Roberto Vannacci’s party, Futuro Nazionale, has reached 7.2 per cent, just 0.2 percentage points behind Forza Italia, which has fallen to 7.4 per cent (-0.2). This is the main finding of the latest poll carried out by SWG for La7. Compared with the previous poll on 27 July, Fratelli d’Italia remains by far the country’s leading party, holding steady at 27 per cent, whilst the main opposition party, the Democratic Party, has fallen to 20.6 per cent (-0.3).

Among the other governing parties, Matteo Salvini’s Lega has seen a decline over the last seven days, falling to 5.5 per cent (-0.2), whilst Maurizio Lupi’s Noi Moderati has remained stable at 1 per cent. In the wider political spectrum, however, the Five Star Movement gained 0.1 per cent to reach 13 per cent, whilst the Green-Left Alliance remained at 6.5 per cent, as did Più Europa at 1.2 per cent, and Italia Viva rose to 2.4 per cent. Among the centrist parties, Azione fell to 3.3 per cent (-0.1), whilst Cateno De Luca’s Sud chiama Nord and Michele Boldrin’s Ora! remained stable at 1 per cent.
