The denials
Ranucci denies the photo of him kissing Boccia. “It was created using AI.” And she is threatening legal action
The journalist has spoken out against the story circulating in the press about his alleged kiss with the businesswoman: “It’s fake. The government is remaining silent on this use of the press.” Boccia’s lawyer: “We will take the matter to the relevant courts.”

“Yet another falsehood from Angelucci’s newspapers – he is Italy’s most frequently absent MP. Today, Libero – picked up by Mentana’s Open and Franco Bechis, known as ‘Fosca’ – reports on a photo allegedly taken by investigators or the secret services, concerning a supposed kiss between myself and Maria Rosaria Boccia. It is a fake, and the photo they are referring to – which I retrieved from the chat – was clearly created using artificial intelligence.” Sigfrido Ranucci wrote this on Facebook after several newspapers had picked up the story of an alleged kiss with the businesswoman, which was even captured in a photograph. “Just to give you an idea of what you are funding with your public money,” added the journalist. The editor is Sallusti, who was pardoned from prison and who, with the support of FdI, requested and secured the suspension of the summer reruns of *Report*. The government remains silent on this use of the press."
Ms Boccia herself has also commented on the matter, through her solicitor. “Today we shall be taking legal action in the appropriate courts against Ms Natalia Potenza, the daily newspaper Libero and the journalist Giacomo Amadori, in relation to the statements and content published in today’s edition,” reads a statement from solicitor Francesco Di Deco. "We categorically deny the existence and authenticity of the photograph described in the article, in the manner in which it is portrayed, and any account that might lead one to believe that there were meetings or a relationship of the nature insinuated by the publication between my client and Sigfrido Ranucci. I would also like to point out that, over the last two years, any meetings between Ms Boccia and Sigfrido Ranucci have always taken place in the presence of other people and never in private. The judicial authorities will be asked,” continued Di Deco, “to ascertain any liability arising from the publication and dissemination of such content. “Similar legal action will be considered against anyone who repeats or reposts the same allegations, where the legal conditions are met,” he concluded.
The kiss has been denied, but the relationship between the two has always been strong. On the cover of "Guai a chi lo tocca. Io, Sigfrido, le tempeste" (Boccia’s new book), the businesswoman is pictured alongside Sigfrido Ranucci dressed as Superman. “In 2024, I was the one being observed, written about, judged and often interpreted by others, whilst Sigfrido went about his work and asked me questions; in the summer of 2026, I saw my friend find himself, with all the differences that entails, on the other side of the lens,” Boccia said in a statement yesterday while presenting her book.
