Prima di dire "Ich bin ein berliner" Obama deve dire chi si crede di essere

Questo è quello che avrei voluto leggere su Obama e la sua visita a Berlino (letto oggi sul Washington post, scritto da Charles Krauthammer): 

"La porta di Brandeburgo è un posto che si deve meritare, come se lo meritò Ronald Reagan, visto che la sua continua pressione sull'allora impero sovietico lo ridusse a piegarsi sulle ginocchia;
se lo meritò John F.Kennedy, di parlare lì: rappresentava un paese che era andato sull'orlo di una guerra nucleare pur di difendere Berlino Ovest.
Cosa ha fatto Obama per meritarsi di parlare dalla porta di Brandeburgo? Come se un politico tedesco partisse per gli Stati Uniti e pretendesse di tenere il suo discorso elettorale dalla statua della libertà.
E poi: cosa ha fatto Obama di memorabile, nella sua vita da senatore (durata tre anni)? Ha mai scritto un articolo memorabile? Una legge indimenticabile che porti il suo nome? Il lavoro che più si ricorda di lui è un libro scritto sul suo soggetto favorito: se stesso".

"For the first few months of the campaign, the question about Obama was: Who is he? The question now is: Who does he think he is?".(...)(Per i primi mesi della campagna la domanda su Obama era: Chi è? La domanda ora è: Chi si crede di essere?").
"What Obama does not seem to understand is that the Brandenburg Gate is something you earn. President Ronald Reagan earned the right to speak there because his relentless pressure had brought the Soviet empire to its knees and he was demanding its final "tear down this wall" liquidation. When President John F. Kennedy visited the Brandenburg Gate on the day of his "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, he was representing a country that was prepared to go to the brink of nuclear war to defend West Berlin.  And what exactly has he done in his lifetime to merit appropriating the Brandenburg Gate as a campaign prop?".(...) "Does Obama not see the incongruity? It's as if a German pol took a campaign trip to America and demanded the Statue of Liberty as a venue for a campaign speech". (...)
"Obama is a three-year senator without a single important legislative achievement to his name, a former Illinois state senator who voted "present" nearly 130 times. As president of the Harvard Law Review, as law professor and as legislator, has he ever produced a single notable piece of scholarship? Written a single memorable article? His most memorable work is a biography of his favorite subject: himself".
